Technical Security Specialist (TSS) TM Designate Certification Program
Posted dates for training are subject to change, and it is strongly recommended that participants register, or indicate an interest in attending any particular program as early as possible to secure a seat in class.
We reserve the right to refuse admission to any person, company, or organization or government that might utilize the knowledge or information gained, for purposes other than intended.
Prerequisites may apply for all of our training and certification programs, including a local law enforcement background security clearance screening report, upon request for non-government participants.
Applicants are requested to contact us prior to submitting registration or making tuition payment, to determine if any special prerequisites apply on an individual basis for the program of interest.
Full payment must accompany the registration application along with all other requested information and documentation once attendance is approved and confirmed.
Should the application for training not be accepted, or the training program is cancelled or rescheduled for any reason, the full submitted payment will be refunded.
Please note that we have never had to cancel a training program once the training dates were confirmed.
It is important to understand that for resident based training, a portion of the total payment is forwarded to the RTC TM for accommodation and meals.
This part of the payment is therefore not refundable should the participant cancel, or not attend the training for any reason once accepted and confirmed into the program.
Please note that all of our training with exception of the 14-Day Technical Security Specialist (TSS) TM resident training program, can be run at your own venue as a closed door training session. Please contact our office for details.
Participants are responsible to ensure that all requested documentation and information is forwarded with the application for training to prevent delays in acceptance into the program of interest.
Information may include a personal resume, professional references, and police background screening report (if requested), as well as a list of any personal TSCM equipment resources that you wish to bring with you to the training, or receive additional training with during the program.
We encourage participants to bring any TSCM related equipment resources to the training, which allows for a more integrated and customized training experience on the actual equipment resources that will ultimately be deployed in the field by the participant or organization.
A professional evaluation of the suitability of the equipment resources by qualified and knowledgeable Technical Security Instructors (TSI) TM may also be accomplished during the training at the request of the participant to highlight any vulnerabilities and / or deficiencies that many exist.
The TSB TM maintains TSCM equipment resources from all of the major equipment manufacturers, and brings this technology (old and new) to the table, and within a hands-on lab style training environment.
Technical Security Specialist (TSS) TM | 14-Day | Resident Program
Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., maintains a suite of dedicated training rooms at our Resident Training Centre (RTC) TM in Cornwall Ontario Canada, south of the Ottawa International Airport and West of the Montreal International Airport.
Our permanent classrooms provide isolation from the rest of the facility and allow the widest possible latitude in providing classroom and hands-on practical training for corporate and government entities.
We provide training reference materials, all on-site meals, and individual private on-site accommodation during your stay.
Participants travelling from outside of the local area may wish to book an additional night at the Resident Training Centre (RTC) TM, to avoid having to arrive on the first day of the training.
Additional nights are not included in the tuition, and an additional charge would apply for each additional night, which includes on-site meals for the extra days of your stay, at the Resident Training Centre (RTC) TM in Cornwall Ontario.
Participants attending the 14-day Resident Training Centre (RTC) TM program, also includes qualification as a Certified Technical Operator (CTO) TM for the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software program, which runs as an embedded training component within the 14-day RTC format.
Participants also have the opportunity to purchase the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software and other TSCM equipment resources during the training at a discounted rate.
Please note that TSCM equipment resources are not specifically required for the training, as we maintain fully equipment classrooms with RF workstations for each participant.
Note: Additional nights of accommodation can be arranged to facilitate early arrival and late departure, to meet individual participant travel requirements. NAV Center can arrange a fixed rate shuttle service to and from the training centre, from Ottawa and Montreal airports. Please contact NAV Center directly in advance of your planned arrival and departure times to arrange and confirm this service as well as the cost per person.
Technical Analyst Certification (TAC) TM | 5-Day
The Technical Analyst Certification (TAC) TM program is run as a 5-day resident and non-resident format and is an advanced extension program for the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software | Certified Technical Operator (CTO) TM training for both new and experienced technical operators.
Do you understand what you are seeing in the Waterfall Display (WFD) image plot to the left? If not, we strongly recommend attending the next Technical Analyst Certification (TAC) TM program.
As an experienced technical operator, you will have already deployed the system, captured significant spectrum data and generated a comprehensive report, utilizing the advanced features of the software.
Now, it is time to learn how to extract, analyze and understand the wealth of analytical data well beyond the technical operator deployment level.
Kestrel Spectrum Analytics (KSA) TM brings to the surface information and details far beyond what is displayed on the user-interface.
The Kestrel Spectrum Analytics (KSA) TM capability provides the technical operator with an advanced set of dynamically integrated collection, analysis and reporting features and functionality that are often under-utilized by the typical technical operator.
Our Resident and Non-Resident programs are conducted as a 5-day format at the Technical Security Branch (TSB) | Resident Training Centre (RTC) in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, or our Research and Development Training Centre (RDTC) TM located in Red Deer Alberta.
This program meets the mandatory Annual Certification Review (ACR) TM requirements of the Technical Security Specialist (TSS) TM Designate Certification program.
Participants travelling from outside the local area may wish to book an additional night at the Resident Training Centre (RTC), to avoid having to arrive on the first day of the training.
Note: If the scheduled program is non-resident in nature, accommodation can be arranged at a local hotel approximately 20 minutes from the Red Deer Training Centre (RDTC) TM.
